Privacy and cookies
This page explains what data danicanton.com collects, what it is used for and what you can do about it. It is up to date with the current version of the site, which is not the same as the one online until July 2026: the new site does not use Google Analytics, advertising or affiliate links.
The Spanish version of this page is the reference text.
Who processes your data
The controller is Daniel Canton Rubio, self-employed professional, owner of danicanton.com. Contact: [email protected]
What data is collected
Only what you send through the contact form: your name, your email address and the message you write. There is no other form, registration or private area.
In addition, how many people visit the site and which pages they look at is measured, in aggregate and anonymously, with Cloudflare Web Analytics. For each visit, the page viewed, the site you came from, the type of device and the country are recorded. Your full IP address is not stored, you are not assigned any identifier, and there is no way to know who you are or to recognise you on a later visit. It is used to know which content is of interest, nothing more.
To show you the site in Spanish or English, your browser's language and the country you connect from, which is derived from your IP address, are checked when you arrive. They are used at that moment to choose the language and are not stored.
The site does not build profiles, does not track you across sites and does not sell or pass data to anyone for commercial purposes.
What it is used for and why it is lawful
The data is used to read your message and reply to you, and for nothing else. The legal basis is your own consent when you send the form and, if your message is a professional enquiry, taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(a) and 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Who else sees it
Three providers are involved in making the form work, each in its own part:
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site and provides the Turnstile anti-bot service and the visit measurement. It processes the request and technical data such as your IP address and your browser.
- Resend, which delivers the form message by email.
- Google, because the mailbox where the message is received is a Gmail account.
Cloudflare, Resend and Google are US companies. International transfers are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
The site's fonts are loaded from Fontshare and Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to those services and they see your IP address.
How long it is kept
Messages are kept in the mailbox while the enquiry is active and for as long as needed to meet legal obligations arising from a professional relationship. If you want it deleted sooner, just ask.
Cookies
This site does not use analytics or advertising cookies. There is no Google Analytics, no Adsense, no embedded social networks and no affiliate links.
The visit measurement that does exist (Cloudflare Web Analytics) works without cookies and without browser fingerprinting: it stores nothing on your device and does not build an identifier from your technical characteristics. That is why there is no need to ask for your consent or show you a cookie banner, and why you will not see one.
Apart from the language cookie explained below, the only thing that may store technical information in your browser is Cloudflare Turnstile, the system that protects the form from spam. It is used exclusively to tell a person from a robot, it does not identify who you are and does not follow your browsing. It is a technical cookie needed for the form to work, so it does not require prior consent.
If you change the language with the site's selector, a cookie called lang stores your choice (es or en) for one year, so it is not changed back on your next visit. It stores only that, you create it by choosing, and it does not require prior consent.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block Cloudflare's, the form may stop sending.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your data, its rectification or erasure, the restriction of or objection to processing, and its portability. Write to [email protected] and it will be handled free of charge.
If you believe your data has not been handled properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
Changes
If the site changes and starts collecting other data or using other tools, this page is updated first. The date of the last review appears at the top.
